Sugar-testing kits

Once growth is observed, evaluate glycerol oxidation using Clin-itest rapid-reducing sugar test kits. 

Home test kits, such as those for blood sugar or pregnancy, depend on visual observation of a developed color, but test strips can also be assessed by instrumental reflectance measurements. Enz5m e-based redox reactions monitored by electrochemical biosensors may alter pH or generate products such as hydrogen peroxide that can react with a chromogenic reagent to form the basis of an optrode. 

Two kits are available from Englyst Carbohydrate to help ensure that accurate analytical results are obtained. The kit for the colorimetric procedure contains color reagent and a second kit contains a solution of allose as internal standard for the GC procedure. Both kits contain the required enzymes, sugar solutions, and reference materials and are rigorously tested in-house.
