Subject 1-methylpyrrole

This year, following a consultation exercise involving members of the Editorial Board, and partly in the interest of getting the Volume published as soon as possible after the end of the year being reviewed, the Index is less comprehensive than formerly. It now includes only systematic heterocyclic ring system names. Thus, wherever a pyrrole is discussed, that would be indexed under pyrroles wherever pyrido[3,4-i]indoles are mentioned an indexed entry under that name will be found similarly aceanthryleno[l,2-e][l,2,4]triazines , azirines , 2f/-pyran-2-ones , 1,2,4-triazoles etc. etc. are listed. But, subjects like 4-ethyl-5-methylpyrrole , 5-acylazirines , 6-alkyl-2//-pyran-2-ones , 3-alkylamino-l,2,4-triazoles , are not listed as such in the Index. Diels-Alder reaction or Fleck coupling etc., are also not indexed. [Pg.484]

In 2001, Tungler and coworkers described the diastereoselective hydrogenation of N (1 methylpyrrole 2 acetyl) (S) proline methyl ester (32) using the Rh/C as cata lyst [40]. By introducing (S) proline moiety as chiral auxiliary, high asymmetric induction was obtained. When 32 was subjected to 5% Rh/C catalyst in methanol with 20 bar H2, the reduced product 33 was obtained with full conversion and 95% de. This substrate induced asymmetric reduction and was effective only to (2 pyrrolyl) acetic acid derivatives (Scheme 10.30). [Pg.327]

Tolmetin acetonitrile may be prepared by the Friedel-Craft s reaction between/7-methylbenzoyl ehloride and l-methylpyrrole-2-acetonitrile with the elimination of a mole of hydrochloric acid. The resulting produet after appropriate separation from its 4-aroyl isomer is finally subjected to saponification followed by conversion to its sodium salt. [Pg.526]
