Style hollow

Style hollow filled with secretion and unicellular papillate PTTT... [Pg.210]

All nematodes that are parasites on plants have a hollow style which they use to puncture plant cells and feed on the cell contents. Nanatodes may develop and feed either inside or outside of a plant. They move with an eel-like motion in water, even water as thin as the film of moisture around plant cells or soil particles. Their life cycle includes an egg, several larval stages, and adult Most larvae look like adults, but are smaller. [Pg.89]

Much more intricate were the items made almost entirely of hair, with just a clasp or fixture of silver or gold. The hair in these delicate pieces could be woven into many shapes such as bows, loops and hollow spheres, and worn as brooches or pendant ear-rings. Another style was a bracelet or necklace made up of narrow ropes of woven hair. [Pg.226]

The products of the thermal phase-separation membranes form a wide range of styles and configurations. Three pore sizes are currently In commercial production In polypropylene flat stock, rated at 0.45, 0.2, and 0.1 micrometers, having maximum pore sizes of about 1.0, 0.55, and 0.3 micrometers, respectively. The last two are particularly attractive for depyrogenatlon work which has been described by J. R. Robinson, et al W. A similar membrane-manufacturing process Is also used for making hollow fibers and tubes which are especially useful in cross-flow applications (10) and plasmapheresis ( ). [Pg.237]

Reservoir delivery systems have been developed in a variety of styles, ranging from microcapsules to hollow fibers to liposomes. Hayashi et al. (1994) produced delivery systems by encapsulating proteins and hormones inpoly-L-lactide microspheres by a solvent evaporation method. The release mechanism for hormones entrapped in liposomes was studied by Ho et al (1986). Progesterone and hydrocortisone skin permeation was enhanced by the presence ofthe liposomes no penetration ofthe liposomes was observed. Examples ofthe most common hydrogels employed in reservoir systems are crystalline-rubbery PEG, PAAm, celluloses, PAA, and PHEMA. [Pg.146]
