In Fig. 11 results are given for sulfosuccinate surfactants of different molecular structure tested according to the Draize skin irritation procedure. The test method defines test scores verbally as described in Table 21. The data in Fig. 11 prove the nonirritant character of sulfosuccinates tested at 10% concentration. Similar results were found for another group of sulfosuccinates [103]... [Pg.538]

Asymmetric nucleophilic allylic substitution has rarely been studied in its heterogeneous version, probably because of the difficulties encoimtered in properly stabilizing and recycling Pd(0) species. Nevertheless, some promising examples have been pubhshed. Lemaire et al. [143] studied the activity and enantioselectivity of various chiral C2-diamines for the asymmetric Pd-catalyzed transformation of various allyl acetates. The structures tested are represented in Scheme 58. [Pg.140]

The structure of [Ti(OEt) , ] , reported by Ibers (2) in 1963 was of historic significance since it provided the first structural test of Bradley s theory for a compound of formula M(OR)h. Each titanium atom achieves an octahedral environment, through the agency of four doubly bridging and two triply bridging alkoxy groups, as is shown in II. [Pg.235]

This structural testing section of the installation qualihcation consists of verifying the internal integrity of the equipment software and hardware and should be done separately for each. [Pg.420]

In ISO TC 45, Rubber and Rubber Products, a decision was made recently to structure test method standards into a number of parts so that the requirements for different purposes are more clearly separated. The idea was that the first part for a given property group would be a guide and subsequent parts would be specific test methods, but it remains to be seen how this develops in practice. A guide in ISO is distinguished by giving advice as to how to test without being mandatory. [Pg.30]

Sclerometry finds ever wider uses. The cited example of the scratch method exploited in structural tests is just one of many. Among others, interesting studies of the anisotropy of crystals, chiefly semiconducting, were carried by this method by Soviet investigators, including Boyarskaya (1972, 1977), Pasko et al. (1977), Zhitaru et al. (1977), Lazarenko et al. (1978), Simashko et al. (1978). [Pg.35]

Among the many complications of structural testing of membranes is the variety of approaches to membrane stack design proposed by different groups working in the field (1, 8). The necessary service conditions of a membrane are determined not only by the membrane itself but also by the type of spacer employed with it, the flow rate and pressure drop across the face of the membrane, pressure differences which can exist either permanently or temporarily from one side of a membrane to the other, the ease and frequency of disassembly and assembly of the stack, and the way in which it is supported. [Pg.238]

Structural testing takes into account the internal mechanism (structure) of a system or component. It is sometimes referred to as white box testing. Structural testing should show that the software creator followed contemporary quality standards (e.g., consensus standards from national and international standards development organizations. This testing usually includes inspection (or walk-through) of the program code and development documents. [Pg.53]

A unit test is a white box-oriented test, conducted on modules that have been structurally tested. This type of test involves the standalone software unit before it is integrated into a complete system or subsystem. The test cases are designed to look for errors in the logic design, data processing, and the statement of execution. Uncovered errors are removed, and the test case that located the error, and any other associated test case, re-executed. [Pg.218]

Test Site. The second phase of this investigation was conducted in the hangar deck structure. The walls and floor of the compartment are of brick, the roof is of steel. The front is designed with ten equidistantly spaced 3-foot-square portholes, arbitrarily numbered from 1 to 10, from left to right, when facing the structure. Tests were conducted on painted 1/8 inch thick steel panels which were fitted over the ports flush with the inner wall, painted surface toward the outside. The initial series of tests was conducted on panels with a dry film thickness of 3 to 5 mils (representative of two top coats) the second series of tests was determined on panels with a dry film thickness of over 5 mils (representative of four top coats). [Pg.55]
