SiH3)2C6H4 (H2L) leads to the nickel(iv) complex Ni(dmpe-P,.f, )(L-6V,6V )2. 31P NMR spectroscopic studies of the reaction indicate the presence of the intermediates Ni(dmpe-.P,.P )(dmpe-P)(L-Structural data have confirmed the unusual Ni2Si2 core. Starting from Ni(depe)2 (depe = l,2-bis(diethylphosphino)ethane), reaction with... [Pg.536]

This problem first emerged from the necessity to reconcile topological and structural data of nucleosomes and chromatin. As soon as a minichromosome could be reconstituted from pure DNA and histones, the total reduction of the DNA linking number (Lk) was found to be equal to the number of nucleosomes, which was also true for the native Hl-bearing SV40 minichromosome [12]. On the other hand, the first low-resolution crystal of the core particle showed that DNA was wrapped with 1 3/4 turns of a left-handed superhelix. Assuming linker DNAs... [Pg.45]

Sirtuins have been conserved from bacteria to eukaryotes. Notably, they all possess a conserved catalytic core domain flanked by sequence-divergent N- and C-terminal regions. If bacteria and archaebacteria generally possess one or two sirtuins, this number is higher in eukaryotes, with five sirtuins in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and seven in human. The presence of sirtuins in all phyla of life led to a wealth of structural data, not only on eukaryotic enzymes but also on bacterial and archaebacteria enzymes. [Pg.34]
