Strategies to integrate OHS into organizational quality management systems

Strategies to integrate OHS into organizational quality management systems [Pg.551]

We will assume that you are going to introduce an occupational health and safety plan in a medium-to-large organization. If the organization is smaller, then you will need to make appropriate adjustments to the scope and detail involved in the plan. [Pg.551]

The work programme usually refers to an operational activity in a specific area of OHS which implements an OHS plan. Certainly we will use programme in this sense (see later in this chapter). The same steps shown above can be used for these specific programmes. [Pg.551]

The working party could be the health and safety committee, if one is already in place. Or it may be set up by the health and safety committee, or management, or the OHS officer or manager, with suitable members. Membership may be broad if the focus of the programme has yet to be agreed upon. Or if the organization already has a good idea of the problem areas, the membership can, as a result, be more focused. [Pg.551]

Such a list or register may already exist, or the working party may decide either to start from scratch or to refresh it. Even a working party with a narrower focus on an individual programme will still need a hazard register within its areas of focus. [Pg.551]
