Strategic models

Those in this condition were prescribed methadone on a fixed reduction schedule (5 mg reduction every two weeks). Therapy consisted of brief intensive sessions with initial emphasis on engaging the family in the treatment programme. The theoretical approach of our therapy derived from both a structural and strategic model, described earlier. 

As discussed in Chapter 3.3.4 product mix complexity effects can be modeled with a fixed cost charge incurred for every product allocated to a plant and/or via an estimation of the capacity lost due to more frequent/more complex changeover processes. Since strategic models such as the one proposed here do not simultaneously determine production campaigns, the latter approach requires an estimation of the number of changeovers occurring at a plant. 

In the future, and whichever strategic model they adopt, successful agribusiness companies will continue to deploy their strengths across a broad portfolio to increase plant yield, which can only be done in three ways plant protection increasing yields through improved seed quality and enhancing yield and quality in ways targeted to consumer value. 

In this new era, three basic strategies can be pursued the introduction of new and more efficient products, innovation in crop seeds with new biotech traits, or commoditization. Only the leading companies will be able to pursue more than one option. Whichever strategic model they adopt, successful agribusiness players will continue to deploy their strengths to increase plant yield through plant protection applications, improved seed quality, and approaches to targeting consumer value.
