The isothermal sintering of Zr02-CaO specimens at 1350°C yielded a straight line plot for log LjL versus log time. The diffusion coefficient calculated from the volume diffusion equation of Johnson and Cutter ( ) was 7 X 10" cm /sec (using an estimated value of 0.5 for the particle radius). This compared with 1.3 x 10" for the zirconium diffusion coefficient obtained by extrapolating the tracer data of Rhodes and Carter ( ).
