2 A Compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases 2, except number 5 TRG 100, App. 1 [Pg.300]

2 B Pressurized small gas containers (aerosol cans) 2, number 5 EC Directive 94/1 [Pg.300]

3 A Flammable liquids 3 (except products with flash point between 55 and 61 °C) Extremely flammable Hhighly flammable Flammable R 12 R 11 R 10 Flamm. liquids regs. hazard class A 1, A 11, B and water-miscible flammable liquids with flash point up to 55 C [Pg.300]

Sensitivity classification (for quantity-distance storage). Class 7, formerly Class 9 (Ref AMC Safety Manual AMCR 385 224, change 12, p 17-63, 9 Nov 1964)... [Pg.401]

Certain hazardous chemicals when stored or mixed together react violently. These chemical substances are unsuitable for mixing and are incompatible. During storage, classes of incompatible chemicals should be segregated from each other according to hazard class. In chemical laboratories, more often than not chemicals are stored alphabetically. This has led to the occurrence of several chemical disasters and explosions. It is important that incompatible chemical substances be handled, stored, and disposed of with care and caution and that no contact is made from one chemical to the other. The following are a few selected incompatible chemical substances. Chemicals in coiumn A should not come in contact with chemicals in coiumn B ... [Pg.261]

In general for biopharmaceuticals there are two main storage classes of interest 2-8 °C refrigerator storage (which is appropriate for most antibody preparation) and -15 to -25 °C deep-freezer storage. Some products may even require storage at -70 °C. [Pg.1570]

Combustible liquids (unless storage class 3 A or 3 B) Liquids - water-miscible with flash point >55 °C - water-immiscible with flash point >100°C to EC Method A 9... [Pg.302]

A short description of each storage class is given below. More details on allocation criteria can be found in the original document. [Pg.303]

Because of the additional hazards, liquids labeled with R-phrases R 10, 11, and 12 can also be allocated to storage class 4.2 or 4.3. [Pg.303]

This storage class encompasses those products whose handling requires approval or notification in accordance with special radiation protection regulations. [Pg.304]

These classes contain products that are labeled with the hazard symbol C (corrosive) and the risk phrases R 34 and 35. Combustible products are assigned to storage class 8 A and non-combustible products to storage class 8 B. [Pg.304]

Storage class 10 Combustible liquids not classified in storage class 3 A or 3 B... [Pg.304]

The mixed storage table (see Table 6.43) indicates whether the storage of members of a given storage class together with members of each of the other storage classes is... [Pg.305]

If mixed storage of products within the same or other storage classes is permitted, this is only if certain conditions are met (use of the same fire extinguishing agent or identical temperature conditions). [Pg.305]

The term segregated storage means storage in the same storage area whereby products are stored separated from each other by gaps or barriers (walls or noncombustible products of class 12 or 13) or in cabinets made of non-combustible material. Normally different products of the same storage class may be stored in the same storage area. Exceptions exist for specific products (for details see Ref. [6-114]). [Pg.307]
