Stocks processing

Catalysts in this service can deactivate by several different mechanisms, but deactivation is ordinarily and primarily the result of deposition of carbonaceous materials onto the catalyst surface during hydrocarbon charge-stock processing at elevated temperature. This deposit of highly dehydrogenated polymers or polynuclear-condensed ring aromatics is called coke. The deposition of coke on the catalyst results in substantial deterioration in catalyst performance. The catalyst activity, or its abiUty to convert reactants, is adversely affected by this coke deposition, and the catalyst is referred to as spent. The coke deposits on spent reforming catalyst may exceed 20 wt %. 

Mono catalyst system, i.e. only HDS, by itself is a poor performer for the feed stock processed in ARDS unit. 

Dell s package-to-order philosophy differentiated them from the make-to-stock processes of the other computer makers. Initially, Dell avoided retail channels, instead offering every customer the opportunity to order a unique product built to their specifications. The genius behind Dell s direct model was that every PC that was built was pre-paid. The unique configurations coupled with the short lead limes were tough to forecast.

The refining energy required to increase the SR value is about 0.5 to 2 kWh r °SR" . This value is influenced by the type of stock processed, the SR value and the refining conditions, as explained before. Some paper mills use a laboratory refiner (Fig. 4.34) to check the incoming fiber materials and to elaborate optimum refining conditions for their individual furnishes.
