The CD-ROM consists of manuals and procedures that should be useful to all companies. As the ISO 9000 series of quality standards becomes more widely adopted by organizations, both in the United States and elsewhere in the world, it is essential for compliant companies to create quality systems manuals and applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their employees. These SOPs enable both new and experienced staff to understand the requirements of the ISO 9000 series of standards, along with the principles and practices of the company, and comply with these regulations to build the elements of quality into their products and services with a particular reference to customer satisfaction. 

The OPCW has created the following quality system documents to control the proficiency testing. The documents are Standard Operating Procedure for the Organization of OPCW Proficiency Tests (QDOC/LAB/SOP/PT1), Work Instruction for the Preparation of Test Samples for OPCW Proficiency Tests (QDOC/LAB/WI/PT2), and Work Instruction for the Evaluation of the Results of OPCW Proficiency Tests (QDOC/LAB/WI/PT3). 

Don t confuse standard work with standard operating procedures (SOP). An SOP typically contains detailed and lengthy instructions for creating or assembling a product or delivering a service. Standard work identifies the best way for a person to complete a particular task and documents this information with pictures or very few words. 

An electronic document management system is used for the maintenance of corporate and local standard operating procedures (SOPs). It includes functionality for document control, but also a workflow component for creating drafts, reviewing, approving, and distributing documents and supports electronic signatures... 

It is recommended to create a detailed instruction (in fact, a Standard Operating Procedure) about how to perform a validation, matching the needs of the company or the laboratory. It is then obligatory in all cases where a new method is established or an existing one is altered.

The revolution created in 1960 by the publication and widespread adoption of the textbook Transport Phenomena by Bird et al. ushered in a new era for chemical engineering. This book has nurtured several generations on the importance of problem formulation by elementary differential balances. The standard GA procedures can be expanded to include various additional operators, such as encapsulation. This is a particularly valuable step, which collapses a section of code into a single node, thereby protecting it from the disruption which may be brought about by the action of the genetic operators. Encapsulation can be used to create automatically defined functions which are subprograms which may evolve in parallel with the main program. These consist of subroutines or subfunctions which perform specific tasks, and are typically called with one or more variable parameters passed across to them. 

The hazards identification process must include a review of previous incidents and those near misses which had the potential to create a serious accident. The OSHA standard also identifies administrative issues (such as operating procedures and training) as being an important part of a hazards analysis. In addition, the standard calls for an analysis of siting and human factors. 

Because Congress has not fully integrated OCSLA with the other laws, the legal framework is neither coherent nor harmonized, and companies authorized to work on the OCS are subject to regulations enacted by MMS and CG pursuant to OCSLA as well as the multitude of rules and procedures created by the other laws. As a result, operators on the OCS must comply with an extremely complex web of prescriptive rules, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
