Wilson CE, Wamishe Y, Lorenz G, Hardke J. Rice stand establishment. In Hardke JT, editor. Arkansas Rice Production Handbook. Little Rock University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service MP192 2013. pp. 31-40. [Pg.201]

Its implementation is easy in small countries due to centralization of management and ease of surveillance of this new form of accreditation by a national accreditation body. Due to the long-standing establishment of validation of food microbiological methods in some countries, the beginning of validation of water microbiological methods, and establishment of European standards for the validation of food microbiological test methods (Microval project), the flexible-scope type of accreditation must be adapted to certain national requirements, but could prove less complex than the standard requirements. [Pg.157]

If the spot of the substance being analysed has travelled the same distance as the known compound, the identity of the substance as being the same as the known compound stands established with sufficient certainty. [Pg.244]

The number of ethylenic linkages In a given compound can be established with accuracy by quantitative titration with perbenzoic acid. A solution of the substance ajid excess of perbenzoic acid in chloroform is allowed to stand for several hours at a low temperature and the amount of unreacted perbenzoic acid in solution is determined a blank experiment is run simultaneously. [Pg.809]

One kind of 2D NMR is called COSY, which stands for correlated spectroscopy With a COSY spectrum you can determine by inspection which signals correspond to spin coupled protons Identifying coupling relationships is a valuable aid to establishing a molecule s connectivity... [Pg.556]

Policies enable managers to determine whether a subordinate s action or decision was simply poor judgement or an infringement of the rules. If no rule exists, subordinates cannot be criticized for using their judgement, however poorly it is used. If a rule exists, one has to establish whether it was accidentally or deliberately broken, for the latter is a disciplinary offence. Without written policy no one knows where they stand and any decision may create an unwanted precedent. [Pg.166]

In oil-producing formations with high fluid loss, drilling in with foam and foam completion proves beneficial. Usually, these formations cannot stand a column of water—so it is impossible to establish returns with conventional mud. The use of foam for drilling in and completion results in substantial increases in production. [Pg.680]

An individual engineer s registration with the Engineering Council is a further valuable indication of professional attainment and standing. Royal Charter established the Engineering Council in 1981 to ... [Pg.10]

Inhibition of tomato and barley plants growing in soils infested with Centaurea repens (knapweed) was reported by Fletcher and Renney (38). A toxic component was isolated in highest concentration from the foliage of knapweed. The inhibitor was considered to be an indole alkaloid or auxin precursor because of its ultraviolet absorption spectrum and the positive reactions obtained with Salkowski and Ehrlich reagents. The presence of the inhibitor was considered to explain partially the rapid establishment of Centaura spp. in almost pure stands. [Pg.135]

It was experimentally established by Berthelot and Jungfleisch (1872), that a body brought in contact with two liquids, in each of which it is soluble, always divides itself between them in a simple ratio, how ever great may be its solubility in one of them, and the excess of the volume of this same solvent. The quantities dissolved simultaneously by the two liquids stand to one another in a constant ratio which is independent of the relative volumes of the two liquids. This ratio is called the coefficient of distribution, or the partition coefficient, k. [Pg.313]
