Spreading resistance technique applications

Jam resistance and LPI come at a cost. Spread spectrum systems are typically more complex, require greater bandwidth, and have lower message bandwidths and lower message data rates than NB systems. In spite of these drawbacks SS systems are attractive for some applications. Spread spectrum techniques provide the designer with a set of design tradeoffs that are unavailable with conventional NB systems. [Pg.1436]

The most important application of SCM is two-dimensional dopant concentration profiling in semiconductors. However, the raw capacitance-voltage data obtained from SCM must be converted by a mathematical model into a dopant concentration. Therefore, development and validation of appropriate models represents a large part of SCM methodology. To validate the various models, other experimental techniques must be employed to measure and verify the dopant profiles independently. SCM data are usually compared to secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) measurements of dopant concentrations. Spreading resistance profiling (SRP) and computer simulations are also employed to check model validity. [Pg.475]

Corrosion Resistant Fiber-Reinforced Plastic (FRP), Fiber glass reinforcement bonded with furfuryl alcohol thermosetting resins provides plastics with unique properties. Excellent resistance to corrosion and heat distortion coupled with low flame spread and low smoke emission are characteristics that make them valuable as laminating resins with fiber glass (75,76). Another valuable property of furan FRP is its strength at elevated temperature. Hand-layup, spray-up, and filament-winding techniques are employed to produce an array of corrosion-resistant equipment, pipes, tanks, vats, ducts, scrubbers, stacks, and reaction vessels for industrial applications throughout the world. [Pg.81]
