Soviet Union, ideology

Many believe in a simple solution increase exploration and drilling in other areas. There may be as much as 270 billion barrels of oil in the Caspian Sea region, a part of the former Soviet Union. To use this oil we would have to deal with countries in an unstable area. The U.S. would also compete against other nations of the world, all of which are thirsty for oil which is also essential for the production of food and the manufacture of many products. Beyond these problems is a rapidly growing world population and an area with contested borders and conflicting political and religious ideologies. 

The resonance theory," to be discussed in detail in Chapters 6 and 21, was characterized in 1949 as a physically and ideologically inadmissable theory formulated by decadent bourgeois scientists. Abstract The causes of the Aral crisis should be sought in the mismatch between economic structures prevailing in the Central Asian republics and factors related to the possibilities provided by and condition of the circum-Aral ecosystems. Economic development in the region was determined by the political ideology of the Soviet Union with its administrative command system, which led to unwise management of water, land, and other resources. 

Victor entered medical school at the University of Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) in 1946 just after the end of the World War II. Like many of his friends, he was impressed with the important role of the Soviet Union in the defeat of Nazi Germany, and was attracted to socialist ideals and Marxist ideology. During the first three years of medical school he was deeply involved in student politics. His future wife, Ruth, was in the same class, and when the two started dating she convinced Victor that science was much more interesting than politics. Since then, their collaboration has been long lasting and fruitful in every sense of the word. 

If the Soviet Union was going to resolve the problem of Nagorno Karabakh, it needed to find a solution that satisfied various requirements. The internal conflict needed to be solved in order to assert Soviet sovereignty in the Caucasus the external threat of the Turks needed to be removed the ideological enemies from the West needed to be neutralized and Armenia s allegiance guaranteed. The Soviets resolved to leave Karabakh in Azeri territory, but created an autonomous oblast that would be populated by both Armenians and Azeris (K Istorii, 1989 155).
