Construction In construction (29 CFR 1626.1101), there are special regulated-area requirements for asbestos removal, renovation, and demolition operations. These provisions include a negative pressure area, decontamination procedures for workers, and a competent person with the authority to identify and control asbestos hazards. The standard includes an exemption from the negative pressure enclosure requirements for certain small-scale, short-duration operations, provided special work practices, prescribed in the standard, are followed, including the following ... 

In the small-scale tests, water was jetted into the salt both from above and below the interface. Explosions were erratic with many tests simply producing water vapor which ejected the salt. In some tests, high-speed photography was employed and, at the highest framing speeds (13,000 fps), the explosion, if it occurred, took place within the time of a single frame, i.e., <77 ju,sec. No definitive conclusions were drawn except that, if an explosion did occur, it was very short in duration and rather destructive.

For smaller power requirements (e.g. flash lights, toys and so forth) or short-duration loads (for instance in car starter batteries) the inherent disadvantages of batteries are insignificant. With increasing performance and operation time, however, the small energy density of batteries is a considerable restraint and fuel cells may be better suited for the application since the size of the converter (fuel cell) and the size of the energy storage (tank) can be scaled independently.
