Filling a Flat Mold through a Slit Gate (Runner)... [Pg.101]

As an example of utilizing Eq. (4.40), let s consider the filling of a flat cavity with a slit gate such as that analyzed in Sect. 4.1 for the case of Newtonian flow. [Pg.109]

Placing a QD on one path, and changing its plunger gate voltage V, would vary the corresponding phase ol = olqd- If the 2-slit formula were valid, it would allow the determination of the dependence of olqd on V. This was the motivation of Yacoby et al. [6], who placed a QD on one path of a closed mesoscopic ABI. Indeed, the measured conductance was periodic in cj>, and the detailed dependence of Q on varied with V. However, close to a resonance the data did not fit the simple 2-slit formula they required more harmonics in 4>, e.g. of the form... [Pg.7]

For the slit-shaped cavity with a unidirectional flow, presented in Fig. 6.79, derive an expression for the pressure at the gate during mold Ailing for a constant injection speed. Assume a volumetric flow rate Q and an isothermal flow of a shear thinning polymer with a power law model. [Pg.336]

Milliseconds-to-microseconds This time domain is covered with either gated image devices or with the rotating optical slit, a recent EG G—PARC development,(12). The intensified OIDs, e.g., SIT and ISIT, have a triode-structured image section... [Pg.17]

The second configuration of a linear IT commercially available is schematized in Fig. 2.22. It operates, with respect to ion injection and storing, in the same way as described above, playing on the voltages applied to Gates 1 and 2, but in this case the ions are no longer ejected axially, but radially, thought two narrow slits present on two opposite quadrupole rods (Schwartz et al., 2002). [Pg.64]

Intensity and lifetime measurement of BrQBA. 100 pL BrQBA ethanol stock solution of 5.0 mmol/L and an appropriate volume of NaDC solution were transferred into a 10 mL comparison tube, and mixed and finally diluted to 10 mL. The excitation and emission slits were both set at 20 nm. The delay time and gate time were set at 0.10 and 5.0 ms for intensity measurement, and both at 0.1 ms for lifetime measurement. [Pg.425]

Figure 1. Schematic diagram of the experiment. The time delay At is actually controlled by an external circuit that fires the CO and YAG laser sequentially. The fluorescence is focused onto the slit of a monochromator, detected by a photomultiplier tube, and averaged -with a gated boxcar integrator. (Reproduced with permission from Ref. 1. The pulsed technique employed by Henchman et uses an ordinary source in which a short electron pulse provides reactant ions. Another short pulse applied to a repeller plate accelerates these to a definite energy (about 1 eV). Before emerging from the exit slit of the chamber, the reactant ions may collide with un-ionized gas to give product ions. The forward velocity of both reactant and product ions is measured by applying a variably delayed gating pulse to a deflection electrode outside of the ionization chamber. A more recent version of the apparatus incorporates separate ion production and reaction chambers, as well as a stopping potential analyzer. ... [Pg.210]
