Sliding sleeve

Normally, the ejection pin and a sliding sleeve, which are positively connected by segments, drive the first stroke (stroke 1) together. At a defined position, the taper bush strikes and the segments now combine the taper bush and the sliding sleeve with each other and release stroke 2. The initially operated ejector plate is fixed. Both stroke lengths are completely controlled. Also, delayed ejector movement can be implemented without problem. [Pg.369]

PREPARE THE SURFACE. Before you slide sleeve-like couplings over the joints between the new and old pipes, clean all sections thoroughly. Use a wire brush to remove any rust from the old pipe, and do the same with the new pipe, until both sparkle. A little preparation goes a long way toward a successful repair. [Pg.326]

Any malfunction in the system makes a noticeable grating sound when the teeth of the sliding sleeve and the cone meet whenever there is a speed difference. [Pg.615]

The interactions with the other components were replaced by suitable boundary conditions. Thus in the area where the cone is mounted, the model was defined mechanically in all the co-ordinate directions. At the teeth of the synchro ring, the contact with the sliding sleeve is replaced by an external force. The friction power was simulated in the form of a heat flux input at the contact elements. The heat was dissipated by convection at the edges of the components. [Pg.615]

For sliding contact bearings (sleeve or thrust bearings) the temperature readings mtisl be taken from as near to the bearing stirface as possible. [Pg.255]

Easy Installation - O-rings slide easily over keyway grooves, impeller threading and stepped shoulders on sleeves. [Pg.188]

Lubrieation problems are a major eonsideration in the use of gear eouplings. Relative sliding between the teeth of the hub and the sleeve requires proper lubrieation to assure long eomponent life. This sliding motion is alternative and is eharaeterized by small amplitudes and relatively high frequeneies. [Pg.610]

Directional control valves may be classified in several ways. Some of the different ways are by the type of control, the number of ports in the valve housing, and the specific function that the valve performs. The most common method is by the type of valving element used in the construction of the valve. The most common types of valving elements are the ball, cone, sleeve, poppet, rotary spool, and sliding spool. The basic operating principles of the poppet, rotary spool, and sliding spool types are discussed in this text. [Pg.614]

Thrust bearings that are integral with the driver shall meet the requirements of 3.1. Thrust bearings and housings integral with the pump shall meet the apphcable requirements of 2.9.1 and 2.9.2. To allow axial rotor adjustment and oil lubrication, the thrust bearing shall be moimted with an interference fit on a slide-fit, key-driven sleeve. [Pg.62]

When a bomb contg this fuze is clustered, the safety wire is withdrawn. The arming pin is held in the fuze by contact with the release bar which is held in place by contact with other bombs in the cluster. The stem of the arming pin holds the slide bar in the retracted position, and the slide-bar spring (12) is compressed. The striker and sleeve are locked together by two steel balls (11) located in two holes in the striker. [Pg.974]

Spinhaler uses two perforating pins to puncture the capsule body for opening. To feed the capsule, the patient has to unscrew the device body and push the capsule into a cup that is connected with a vertical spindle holding a propeller. After closing, the capsule is pierced by sliding the outer sleeve down and back again. When the patient tilts his or her... [Pg.245]

Float and rod types work with a ball with a hollow sleeve that slides up and down on a rod that extends down into the bed. The ball weight can be adjusted to float on top of the bed of solids. [Pg.2014]
