Slant hole

Slant hole A nonvertical hole usually refers to a wellbore purposely inclined in a specific direction also used to define a wellbore that is nonvertical at the surface. 

Enhanced Coalbed Methane Production and Sequestration ofC02 in Unmineable Coal Seams. This project aims to demonstrate the use of "slant-hole" drilling to degasify unmineable coal seams. Upon drainage of 50-60% of the CBM, CO2 will be injected into some of the slant-hole wells to enhance CBM production. 

Clinker treatments are additives designed to reduce the amount of clinkering formations that takes place in boilers fired by bark, bagasse, and similar low-calorific-value fuels. These fuels can give rise to considerable amounts of noncombustible deposits that must be continuously or regularly removed from the furnace area. Clinker treatments are formulated for use with various types of furnace, including slant, pin hole, and chain grate furnaces. 

An HgCdTe layer 2 is formed on a sapphire substrate 1. A resist layer 3 having windows is shaped on the HgCdTe layer and an etching treatment is carried out to form through holes 4 in the HgCdTe layer. At the same time two opposite side-walls are tapered. An indium layer is deposited and electrodes 5 are formed on the slanted side-walls and on the exposed regions of the sapphire substrate when the resist layer is removed.

However, when bias voltage is applied across the device, HOMO (LUMO) of organic semiconductor will slant, and then the holes (electrons) distributed around Fermi level will have considerable possibility to cross a triangular barrier and get injected into HOMO (LUMO). When the external electric field becomes higher, the energy level will slant badly and the barrier will become lower. The relationship between the current of the device / and the electric field strength E can be demonstrated in Fowler-Nordheim formula ... 

It will be noted in Fig. 3.F that some of the holes-go into the pebble zone and others into the permanent graphite, while two extend through the reactor structure and are accessible from the basement of the Reactor Building. The way in which the holes into the pebble zone slant in toward the reactor tank is shown in Fig. 2.B. All the facilities entering the pebble zone have complete liners, steel through the concrete, then fluted aluminum tubes in the graphite. Cooling inside the liner is provided by air which leaks around the... 

The upper side of cupboards should join to the ceiling, or alternatively a slant finishing should connect the upper side to the ceiling. Personnel should not be able to place objects on top of a cupboard. As far as cupboards are made from wood, plywood or chipboard these parts should be laminated on all sides, e.g. also at the backside of shelves. Holes to adjust shelves in height should be filled up. Open wood or chipboard may release spores. Workbenches should preferably hover or be attached to the wall. Floors under worktops must be well accessible for cleaning. Fixed furniture preferably should be placed upon pre-mounted dado s. 

Produced by punching holes in a relatively thin plate. Holes are of a semielliptical shape with slanting, strongly conical openings in the direction of entry. It is primarily used in fluid bed drying applications. Holes can be oriented in such a way to promote certain mixing patterns or drive the solids toward discharge nozzle.
