Silyl complexes structures

Very recently, even examples of donor-stabilized bissilylene complexes have been introduced. For instance, the two cyclic systems 13 and 14 are prepared by an aminolysis reaction of the respective bis(chloro)silyl complexes. The x-ray structure analysis of 13 has been performed [39]. [Pg.9]

These new silyl complexes are monomeric in benzene solution, but are dimeric in the solid state. The crystal structure of the samarium analogue (Figure 1) shows that dimers form via intermolecular Sm-CH3-Si interactions. The Sm-Si distance, 3.052 (8) A, is to our knowledge the longest metal-silicon distance known. As with other complexes that display Ln-CH3-Si interactions in the solid state, evidence for these interactions in solution is not observed in NMR spectra. The [H NMR chemical shifts for the neodymium... [Pg.228]

The reaction of Ba[P(SiMe3)2]2(THF)2 with diphenylbutadiyne in toluene for 12 days induces a m-addition of the diyne to the phosphide, followed by a 1,3-silyl group shift and ring closure. The dinuclear complex 132 is then isolated in good yield.283 Its complex structure contains Ba-C a bonds (2.881(5), 2.899(5) A), side-on Ba-alkyne (3.003(6), 3.363(6) A) and arene interactions, and Ba-phospholide bonds (Ba-P = 3.487(2) A) (Figure 65). [Pg.121]

Metal chemical shifts have not found extensive use in relation to structural problems in catalysis. This is partially due to the relatively poor sensitivity of many (but not all) spin 1=1/2 metals. The most interesting exception concerns Pt, which is 33.7% abundant and possesses a relatively large magnetic moment. Platinum chemistry often serves as a model for the catalytically more useful palladium. Additionally, Pt NMR, has been used in connection with the hydrosilyla-tion and hydroformylation reactions. In the former area, Roy and Taylor [82] have prepared the catalysts Pt(SiCl2Me)2(l,5-COD) and [Pt()i-Cl)(SiCl2Me)(q -l,5-COD)]2 and used Pt methods (plus Si and NMR) to characterize these and related compounds. These represent the first stable alkene platinum silyl complexes and their reactions are thought to support the often-cited Chalk-Harrod hydrosilylation mechanism. [Pg.20]

Silyl carbamates have recently been shown to undergo photoinduced electron transfer with substituted alkenes, in the presence of catalytic amounts of dicyanoanthracene and biphenyl (BP), to yield more complex carbamates182. Two examples which illustrate the complex structures created in good yield are shown in Scheme 61. [Pg.1294]

The first mercury(I) silyl complex [(Me3SiMe2Si)3Si]2Hg2 was prepared by the reaction of an excess of (Me3SiMe2Si)3SiH with (t-Bu)2Hg. The solid structure of the complex displays linear Si—Hg—Hg—Si fragment with regular metal-silicon bond lengths... [Pg.2121]
