The molecular structure, as determined by X-ray diffraction methods, shows the type of arrangement of the silyl-acyl derivative (the 0-inside isomer) with Zr-O and Zr-C distances of 2.248(1) and 2.183(2) A, similar to those of Zr( / -C5H5)2()7 -COMe)Me Insertion of carbon monoxide occurs for a solvent stabilized cationic complex of zirconium (IV), [Zr(>j -C5H5)2 (Me)(L)] ... 

The structure of the silyl zirconium complex 45 (Section 9.18.3.2.3) shows that the majority of the material formed in its production is the /,/-diastereomer <2005JA10174>.
