Shining Path

In a certain manner, the Tree of Life—the ten fruit and the shining paths—may be conceived as a vertical cross-section of the aura, while the Round Table, with its twelve-fold division, can be seen as a horizontal cross-section of the aura. The Grail upon the table—coinciding with Tiphareth upon the Tree—shines in the heart, balancing Above with Below and Without with Within. [Pg.66]

Perform the preliminary exercises and then project the Table Round. Take your place at your siege. Observe that you are clothed in a hooded robe of deep blue-violet, the indigo color of Akasha. The hood is a symbol of impersonality, the necessary attitude of mind for this work. There are silver sandals, the magical tool of Yesod, upon your feet, for you are walking the shining Paths of the Tree. This robe and these sandals should be your usual inner attire when working within the Tower. [Pg.87]

Figure 12. This diagram shows the Concealed Paths as well as the usual twenty-two Shining Paths, diagrammatically teaching that each single Sephira is united to all the other Sephiroth of the Tree. The Sephiroth are not ten separate things, but ten interdependent aspects of the One Majesty, ten facets of the luminous Jewel of Eternity. Figure 12. Urea nitrate (UN), more properly called uronium nitrate, is an energetic salt, and as such would not be expected to have much vapour pressure however, it might be detectable due to evolved urea or nitrogen oxides. Detection of urea nitrate is essential because for over a decade it has been a frequent choice of terrorists. It was used in the bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City (Februaryl 993) and in many car bombings in Palestine. In 1992, the use of urea nitrate became so prevalent in bombings by the Shining Path that sales of urea were outlawed in Peru. [Pg.22]

Urea nitrate secured its place on the U.S. landscape by being the explosive used in the World Trade Center (WTC) bombing in February of 1993. Although it was not commonly seen in the United States at the time, terrorist groups in other parts of the world had long since known about it. Both the Shining Path in Peru and numerous mideastern terrorists utilized UNi in their attacks well before the WTC incident. The use by the Shining Path was so predominant that sales of urea were outlawed in Peru in 1992 to curtail explosive production. [Pg.54]

Remnants of Shining Path, a Peruvian leftist group, finance some operations by protecting cocaine smugglers in jungle areas under its control and by taxing the coca trade. [Pg.1611]

Tower of the Art itself. From this prospect, the circular shaft of the tower is featureless, save for the westward-facing, oval window of the Chamber of Indwelling. And, above the tower s battlements shines the White Sun of Kether—never-setting, constant, and abiding. No matter what time of day or night, or what seasonal appearance may impose itself upon your inner kingdom, the White Sun ever crowns the tower. It is the true beacon by which we ever navigate on the Path of Return. [Pg.105]

The conclusions drawn from the different experiments with respect to the effect of RESS process parameters on precipitate size and morphology reflect the importance of specific solute/solvent properties on the process path. This probably results in the apparent contradictions found in experimental results. To date, the theoretical work aimed at gaining a fundamental understanding of the RESS expansion phenomenon and physical processes relevant to droplet, particle or film formation has been quite limited (Debenedetti, 1990 Debenedetti et al., 1993 Kwauk and Debenedetti, 1993 Lele and Shine, 1994). [Pg.198]

The Tyndall effect plays an important role in this context [21] and can be explained by recalling that under diffuse light, colloidal suspensions seem to be perfectly clear and appear to contain no solids. The presence of suspended matter can be detected by shining the beam of a flashlight into the solution as particles of colloidal dimensions scatter visible radiation, the path of the beam through the colloidal suspension can easily be seen [1],... [Pg.108]

Definitely. Many lasers used in modern chemistry laboratories are powerful enough to cause a person to go blind after only a fraction of a second of direct exposure to the eye. Some are even so powerful that they can burn or ignite objects placed in their path. Laser pointers you can buy in the store are not this powerful, however, so you don t have to worry about a laser you personally own being quite this dangerous. You should still definitely avoid shining them in your eye, though, because they can be damaging. [Pg.145]

All ducts must be arranged within the shield so that.radiation outward, both in straight-line paths and in shine through the ducts, will not be sufficient to bring radiation at any point outside the shield above permissible levels. [Pg.337]

Many companies have followed the 5S path of sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain, and almost as many go back and follow the same path. The reason they may repeat the process more than once is that they do not effectively implement the last two Ss (standardize and sustain), therefore, they have to start over with the first three. Or, to put in into the context of this book, 5S does not become cultural. Instead of Implementing 5S because it is part of a lean program or because your work areas are a mess, consider informing your employees you are implementing 5S to improve safety. This is another chance to make safety first a reality. [Pg.28]
