Shell generic model

The Hrst type of generic model for shell-and-tube membrane reactors refers to a nonisothermal packed-bed catalytic membrane tubular reactor (PBCMTR) whose cross-sectional view is shown in Figure lO.l. Mathematical models for this type of membrane reactor have been reviewed quite extensively by Tsotsis et al. [1993b]. [Pg.412]

We argue that the above features of star dynamics are generic for soft systems of the core-shell type for which stars serve as prototype. Support for this comes from the dynamic light scattering (DLS) investigation of large block copolymer micelles, where all three relaxation modes, i.e., cooperative, structural and selfdiffusion are observed [188]. In particular, the star model discussed above applies to core-shell particles with a small spherical core relative to the chain (shell) dimensions. For a surface number density a = f / (47i r ) the polymer layer thickness under good solvent conditions is L ... [Pg.25]

All the systems chosen above are described well in the reference level by two-determinantal model spaces for the groimd states, described generically by the functions = [coreja and 1 2 = [corejft. The two active orbitals o and b belong to two diflFerent symmetries. This ensures the completeness of the model space. Since the reference determinants used in the applications in the present work are closed-shell singlets, the spin-adaptation of the working equations is a very simple task in this case. [Pg.133]
