The international public (HGP) and American private (Celera) efforts to determine the sequence of the human genome exploited different approaches [9,10,35], It is still not clear whether Celera s whole genome shotgun sequencing (WGC) approach was really efhcient as they used publicly available data and it is not known to what extent.
