Semi-bulk unloading systems

Flow-Flexer bag activators raise and lower the opposite bottom edges of the bag at timed intervals (middle). As the bag becomes lighter, the stroke of the the bottom of the bag into a steep configuration while a Pop-Top bag extension device stretches the bag (right). This device assures complete discharge. 

AccuRate developed a combined bulk discharging station and metering unit. This system lifts and positions the bulk bag over a metering unit which can supply material in a known quantity directly to the point of use. 

Palamatic, in addition to designing conventional bulk bag discharging systems, has developed another version ealled the Duo-Pal Dump Station which combines bulk bag and small bag discharging through a dust control unit.

Different demands made on production processes, the local conditions and the desired degree of automation lead to different solutions. Industry offers proven concepts that can be validated, e.g. a concept in which trays filled with bulk product or vials are introduced into a drying chamber semi- or fully automatically. However, loading and unloading systems that operate without trays are preferred the vials are loaded into the drying chamber or chambers fully automatically from the filling machine, as shown in Figures 2.73.1 and 2.73.2. 

Due to the environmental protection many powders are delivered in semi-bulk bags. These heavy units require equipment for unloading. Figure 3.12 shows the system for bulk bag unloading to a bin equipped with a weigh hopper to feed.material in a semi-automatie or automatic process.
