Selenic anhydride

Chemical Designations - Synonyms Selenic anhydride Chemical Formula Se03. [Pg.339]

Min.) selensulfur. -schwefelkohlenstoff, m. carbon sulfide selenide, CSSe. -silber, n. silver selenide. -silberglanz, m. naiimannite. [Pg.408]

Aqueous electrolytes proposed in the literature for cathodic electrodeposition of lead selenide are generally composed of dissolved selenous anhydride and a lead salt, such as nitrate or acetate. Polycrystalline PbSe films have been prepared by conventional electrosynthesis from ordinary acidic solutions of this kind on polycrystalline Pt, Au, Ti, and Sn02/glass electrodes. The main problem with these applications was the PbSe dendritic growth. Better controlled deposition has been achieved by using EDTA in order to prevent PbSeOs precipitation, and also acetic acid to prevent lead salt hydrolysis. [Pg.125]

Selenium Trioxide or Selenic Anhydride, SeOa.—All attempts to prepare this compound by methods analogous to those used for sulphur trioxide have failed, and it has been found impossible to isolate it by dehydration of selenic acid. [Pg.331]

SELENIC ANHYDRIDE (13768-86-0) OgSe Noncombustible solid. Violent reaction with water, forming selenic acid. A strong oxidizer. Violent reaction with many substances including reducing agents, hydrides, nitrides, and sulfides cyanides, esters, combustible materials, active metals, organic substances, aldehydes, alkenes, carboxylic acids, isocyanates, and thiocyanates. Attacks most metals in the presence of moisture. [Pg.944]

Diaryl ditellurium compounds are claimed to be oxidized by air5,6 and by selenous acid7 to arenetellurinic acid anhydrides. [Pg.355]

Selenium-oxygen bonds. The Se chemical shifts of some inorganic selenium-oxygen compounds are listed in the Tables 2 and 3. It is apparent that Se (Vl)-species are much more shielded (5 = 944-1076 Table 2) than the Se (IV)-species (5 = 1263-1559 Table 3). This holds as well for SeO3, the anhydride of selenic acid (H2SeO4), the halogen derivatives and its alkyl esters and amides. [Pg.124]

A series of selenenyl compounds - selenenic acids, selenenic anhydrides, selene-nyl halides, selenocyanates, and selenenamides, etc. - act as excellent electrophilic selenenylation reagents toward a variety of carbon-carbon unsaturated compounds. For example, electrophilic addition of selenenyl halides to carbon-carbon double bonds proceeds stereospecifically in the anti conformation. This addition is first-order in both selenenyl halides and carbon-carbon unsaturated compounds. [Pg.826]
