Segmentation Thresholding

Risson (2003) The segmentation threshold was set to 0.05. A minimum of five pixels were required for each segmented region. Regions with a saturation less than 0.12 were excluded. The curve of the black-body radiator was not used. The intersections were computed in RGB chromaticity space. All intersections between dichromatic lines were computed and the median, separately for the x-and y-direction, was taken as the position of the illuminant. (threshold=0.05, nLimit=5, minSaturation=0.12)... 

Segmentation (thresholding) The flame area was delimited by setting to 0 all pixels with intensity <60.

The aim of defect segmentation is to delimit the detected defect as precise as possible from the background which surrounds the defect (fig. 8). The extracted characteristics of a detected casting defect depend considerable on the threshold value which is used during the defect segmentation. 

Manual thresholding by detecting peaks of matrix diagonal (4) to segment X-Rays images. 

Automatic thresholding by dividing the matrix in several blocks to segment B-Scan images. 

Automatic Methods with the help of appropriate algorithms permit the calculation of the threshold to segment ultrasonic images. It is this work, this method has been adopted.

SCCs above a certain level are an indication of immune-system activation and are used as an indicator of sub-clinical , latent or chronic udder infections/mastitis (Concha, 1986 Ostensson et al., 1988), which were shown to affect milk quality, composition and shelf life. Dairy companies therefore impose SCC thresholds or reduce payments to farmers if certain thresholds are exceeded (Hamann, 2001 Urech et al., 1999).
