Secondary colors

Because secondary color development has been particularly successful in the development of color materials, and because of the ease by which il is possible to control color by this method, the field of couplers has expanded rapidly. 

Students will learn the proper procedure for mixing secondary colors from primary pigments. 

Secondary Colors. Orange, green, and violet (or purple) are second in importance. Each is made by combining two primary colors in equal amounts. 

Intermediate Colors. There are six intermediate colors, each made by combining adjoining primary and secondary colors in equal amounts. The intermediate colors are red-orange, red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, and yellow-orange. 

Paint in the secondary and intermediate colors by mixing appropriate primary and secondary colors. 

Paint the next set of shapes in the appropriate secondary color.

I thought of the secondary colors. Green and the T s turned green and the beads followed. Then Orange and the mandala turned orange. Then I thought of purple. The T s were moving to the music and sensory impulses. They turned purple, the beads were purple. I watched the mandala for a minute. 

Tertiary colors (ca. 1864) n. Shades that are obtained by mixing the three primary colors or by mixing one or more of the secondary colors with gray or black. 

But farther out, this sweepstakes has more recent entries. In particular, one other big rock in our solar system has retained a thick atmosphere and liquid oceans on its surface, despite all the physical forces conspiring to remove them. If the three sister planets are primary colors, red, yellow, and blue, this planet-ish rock is a secondary color. It is the mysterious orange moon of Saturn named Titan. 

Doubletone Ink n A type of printing ink which produces the effect of two-color printing with a single impression. These inks contain a soluble toner which bleeds out to produce a secondary color. 

Each secondary color is a complementary color of one of the primary colors. Again, from Figure 24-16(a), cyan (C) is the complementary color of red (R) ... 

A complementary color is a secondary color that mixes with the opposite primary color on the color wheel to produce white light in additive color mixing or black in subtractive color mixing. 

A secondary color is the complement of a primary color. When light of a primary color and its complement (secondary) color are add, the result is white light. When they are subtracted, the result is an absence of color (black).
