Secondary mixes

We form the polymer. Each MO of the monomer generates a band. There may (will) be some further symmetry-conditioned mixing between orbitals of the same symmetry in the polymer (e.g., s and z and z2 are of different symmetry in the monomer, but certain of their polymer molecular orbitals (MOs) are of the same symmetry). However, ignoring that secondary mixing and just developing a band from each monomer level independently represents a good start. 

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Process (20) has also been the subject of study. This process is a two-stage countercurrent adsorption system using PAC. Fresh activated carbon is mixed with wastewater in the secondary mixing basin and settled, and then the entire mixture of settled sewage solids and activated carbon is transferred to the primary mixing basin. Settled solids and carbon are removed from the primary settling basin, dewatered, and transferred to a pyrolysis reactor. The reactor produces activated carbon, which is then recycled to the secondary mixing basin. 

The determination of the optimum conditions for the synthesis of the unsymmetrical cyanamides similar to h], 48 and by our novel method (reactions 9, 10 and 11) would be very desirable. The hydrolysis of these mixed cyanamides would provide a useful synthesis of secondary mixed amines (reaction 12) which is not possible by Vliet s method (9) (reaction 13) which affords only secondary symmetrical amines. 

Several experimental studies have shown that the secondary mixed exponents can be especially large. In cases where the single-site Swain-Schaad exponents... 

The results of Cha et al. [90] illustrate these tendencies. Their isotope effect results give an unexceptional primary mixed exponent, r = 3.58 + 0.08, and a much larger secondary mixed exponent, = 10.2 + 2.0. These mixed exponents have been studied recently in several large-scale computational projects [14, 38, 47, 91]. Many other experimental studies [89, 92] involving mixed isotopic exponents are the subject of several reviews [93-96].

Some of the more widely used high-performance screws include the Energy Transfer (ET) screw [19], the Variable Barrier Energy Transfer (VBET) screw [20], the Double Wave screw [21], Stratablend [22] and Stratablend II [23] screws, and the Unimix [24] screw. Other devices can, however, act as a trap for solid materials from the melting section. These devices include Maddock-style mixers [25], spiral dams, and blisters. They will be briefly discussed in this section as many of them have been the subject of many articles on secondary mixing processes.
