If some of the Bis-GMA sticks to the sides or top of the vial, tightly screw on the vial lid and completely submerge the vial in a beaker full of hot tap water until the Bis-GMA flows to the bottom. 

The sand-reduction process is a cold-water process without solvent. In the first step, the tar-sand feed is mixed with water at approximately 20°C (68°F) in a screw conveyor in a ratio of 0.75 ton to 3 ton per ton of tar sand (the lower range is preferred). The mixed pulp from the screw conveyor is discharged into a rotary-drum screen, which is submerged in a water-filled settling vessel. The bitumen forms agglomerates that are retained by an 840-micron (20-mesh) screen and withdrawn as oil product. The sand readily passes through the 840-micron (20 mesh) screen and is withdrawn as waste stream.

A possible source of error in this method is that the sample has to be removed from the liquid to allow weighing if this is done quickly (say within 30-50 secs) compared to the time a sample spent in the liquid in between consecutive weighings, the sample removal exerts a negligible effect. For those liquids whose density is greater than the polymer itself, the sample was kept submerged in the liquid by a glass-plunger attached to the screw cap.

When producers start to produce PAM, the energy efficiency of submergible centrifugal pumps decreases more than 50%, while PAM production does not have much effect on the efficiency of rod pumps and screw pumps (Fig. 18). At the same time, the service life of centrifugal pumps decreases approximately 50% also (from 980 to approximately 500 days when the PAM concentration is 500 mg/L). 

Assemble the balance with its glass plummet immersed in water. Place the unit (large) rider on mark 10, or hang it from the hook if only 9 divisions arc shown on the beam. Level the beam by means of screw weight and note the temperature and the depth to which the plummet is submerged below the surface ofwater.
