Scope of control

This study has found that dmg regulation does not meet these requirements in all the countries studied. In some countries, legislation omits or exempts certain areas of pharmaceutical activity from the scope of control. In Australia, Malaysia and the Netherlands, legislation requires traditional/herbal medicines to be assessed and registered. But this is not the case in Cypms, Uganda or Zimbabwe. As a result of such gaps, dmg regulation provides only partial protection for consumers. 

In light of the knowledge currently available, this chapter aims to discuss the general principles, methodologies, and scope of controlled/ living cationic polymerizations and more specific examples for representative classes of monomers. The next chapter will be devoted to the controlled syntheses of new functional polymers using these systems. 

Since its discovery for vinyl ethers and isobutene in the 1980s, the scope of controlled/living cationic polymerization has been expanded rapidly in terms of monomers and initiating systems. This does not necessarily mean that the scope of control of external users reaches across and inside organizational boundaries.
