SCM concept

Special SCM Concepts in addition, some industry-specific terms have been developed in the context of supply chain management in the last... [Pg.49]

The SCM concept combined with a powerful sorption database allows a straightforward extension towards rocks and soils composed of several minerals. Their sorption behaviour should be predicted from the weighted superposition of the sorption processes for all constituting minerals. The number of important rock-forming minerals is rather limited, more then 95 % of the known rocks in the earth s crust consist of only about 20 minerals and mineral groups (Ronov and Yaroshevsky, 1967). Thus we hypothesized that the sorption behaviour of uranium(VI) onto rocks can be described... [Pg.83]

There was little real commitment from senior management to make the project succeed. Lip service was paid to the SCM concept, but management s prime concerns were increasing market share, speeding up new-product introduction, and meeting the profit projections made to the parent company for the next few fiscal quarters. [Pg.460]

The theoretical development of the SCM concept described is an auspicious sign in the context of future successes of its application in business practice. Unfortunately, ineffective promotion of the concept to date and the relatively poorly described process of its operationalisation (implementation) and the resulting lack of understanding of the idea... [Pg.31]

To implement the SCM concept, one needs logistics knowledge and skills however, equating these with SCM knowledge in the face of the complexity of this concept may be regarded as somewhat abusive, and is a significant source of delays in the development of supply chains in Poland. [Pg.33]

The absence of adequate communication and limited trust between collaborators seem to be the largest barriers to the application of the SCM concept in Poland. As the results of our research indirectly show, the relatively low level of competence in SCM demonstrated by Polish companies also may be a barrier. [Pg.82]

This section. summarizes some of the material found in Plenat, Gerhard, International Operations Management, Copenhagen Business School Press, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2002. Reprinted in India by Ane Books, New Delhi, 2003. This book offers an extensive expansion of these fundamental SCM concepts. [Pg.11]

There are two major approaches for applying the SCM concept to model metal ion and radionuclide adsorption to soils and sediments (Davis et al., 1998) the component additivity approach, and the generalized composite approach. [Pg.62]
