Science and engineering education in Korea

Tcp ten universities in Korea take most of the research fund awarded by die Govmunent and industries. The most difficult problem facing science and engineering education in Korea is lack of funds con iared to the advanced countries. Education expenses for Korean science d engineering education are far less than the G7 countries. 

The history of science and engineering education in Korea is not very long. Ten engineering students in college level graduated in 1918 after three years study, and four students in mathematics and physics graduated in 1919 at another institution. 

The objective of science and engineering education in Korea should be increasing the quality not quantity. 75% of universities are private depending heavily on the tuition income and Government support is minimal.
