1 Scaling Relationships for Pneumatic Transport of Dilute Suspensions 

Scaling for a dilute gas-solid suspension may represent a simple case of using the nondimensionalization method. The following example is a simplified version of the work of Chao (1982). 

For pneumatic transport of solids in a dilute suspension, the effects of apparent mass, Basset force, diffusion, and electric charge of the particles may be ignored. Thus, the dynamic equation of a small particle in a gas medium is given by
