Sanitising agents

Where disinfection is employed to further reduce the surface contamination level, the choice of disinfectants and the way that they are used should be as described in Clauses 403-411. In addition disinfectants and sanitising agents used on critical surfaces or gloves should be supplied sterile, or be sterile-filtered or otherwise sterilised at the use-dilution or be sterilised as a concentrate and diluted only with sterile water. Diluted antiseptics or disinfectants should not be stored. Containers should not be topped up. [Pg.299]

STARTING MATERIAL Any material employed in manufacture and which may contact or be included in the finished product, including packaging materials. The term does not include ancillary chemicals such as cleaning and sanitising agents, deioniser regenerants, machine lubricants or adhesives,... [Pg.305]

The chemical and microbiological quality of water used in production should be specified and monitored. Care should be taken in the maintenance of water systems in order to avoid the risk of microbial proliferation. After any chemical sanitisation of the water systems, a validated flushing procedure should be followed to ensure that the sanitising agent has been effectively removed. [Pg.552]

These compounds are important as their many derivatives are widely used as biocides, sanitising agents, for algae control in water treatment, ore floatation agents in mining, effective corrosion inhibitors and lubricants in drilling mud formulations. [Pg.86]

Under acidic conditions, the reaction equilibrium is shifted away from the formation of hypochlorous acid, which explains the formation of hypochlorite and chlorine and also the chlorinating action of chloramines, which are used as disinfectants and sanitising agents in the food industry. In acidic media hypochloric acid cation and chloride arise in the reaction with hydronium ions ... [Pg.893]

Obtained additional information on migrants from rubbers and also assessed the influence on migration of the ageing of the mbbers, and the effects of the use of sanitisers and cleaning agents that are used within food processing equipment. [Pg.288]

Sidwell of Rapra Technology [4] carried out a study of the types of organosulfur compounds present in a range of rubber materials and other elastomers and the effect of ageing of various sanitisers and cleaning agents on the migration of these compounds from rubbers in contact with food. [Pg.109]
