A safety professional is obligated to be cognizant of the state-of-the-art as the practice of safety evolves. The source of an innovation in safety and health management is irrelevant. If applying an innovation serves to reduce risk, a safety and health professional is compelled to promote its adoption, regardless of the standard or guideline in which it first appears. [Pg.384]
