Safety library

The safety professional s online library, covering topics related to safety, safety management, ergonomics, fleet and environment. The Safety Library contains over 40 environmental databases and over 70 databases of chemical profiles. Subscription is required. 

In addition to an overview of government regulations, the book introduces the resources of the AICHE Center for Chemical Process Safety library. Guidelines are offered for hazard identification and risk assessment. The book concludes with case histories drawn directly from the authors experience in the field.

A number of additional safety measures relevant to personnel actually designing blasts and working directly with explosives are included in the regulations and in the IME Safety Library Publications.

The Barbour Health and Safety Library provides vital reference information for occupational health and safety information-seekers. The library is reproduced on microfiche and contains the full text of publications ranging from legislation to standards and codes, advisory leaflets and data sheets. Another useful service is the catalogue of British Official Publications not published by HMSO, produced by Chadwyck Healey. This catalogue covers the publications of over 400 organizations financed or controlled, completely or partially, by the British government. 

Finally, the research department should provide access to an up-to-date safety library where information pertaining to the control of laboratory hazards is made available to all laboratory workers. This library should be kept current and should contain any specialized information published by the organization s safety department as well as pertinent textbooks, monographs, and federal and state guidelines. A brief discussion of training philosophy is given in Sections 19.2 and 19.3.
