Sabouraud’s agar

Trypticase soy agar and Sabouraud s agar, in petri dishes, were streaked with E. coli and Aspergillus sp. and placed on top of books packed on the cart. The cart was placed in the chamber and exposed to ethylene oxide for 4 hr. These petri dish samples were used for a special part of the second series of experiments. 

Sabouraud s agar plates. Although cultures of draining woimds may be useful in cases of preseptal cellulitis related to trauma or local infection, cultures of the conjunctiva, eyelids, and nasal mucosa are generally misleading. 

The following organisms were used Cryptococcus laurentii, a yeast Aspergillus fumigatus gp. (Aspergillus fischeri), an enrichment culture isolate and a Fusarium sp. isolated in the laboratory. All the fungi used in this study are those preserved in our laboratory. Trichophytons were examined on Sabouraud s culture medium and all the others on the potato-dextrose agar culture medium.
