Among the controversies summarized in Table 9.1, the argument that the rounded forms are due to growth and represent the as-grown morphology has been completely rejected, and it is now believed that all these forms represent the forms appearing due to the dissolution process.

By addition of heat and increase in the amount of chlorine, the iodine monochloride disappears, and the system passes along the curve DE, which represents the composition of the solutions in equilibrium with solid iodine trichloride. The concentration of chlorine in the solution increases as the temperature is raised, until at the point E, where the solution has the same composition as the solid, the maximum temperature is reached the iodine trichloride melts. Another maceral of the inertinite group is sclerotinite, which is the result of fungal remains. Four different topographies of rough surfaces are compared in the present study a cylinder, a truncated cone, a paraboloid and a hemisphere.
