Roll pump machines

Process condition monitoring system (sometimes also called technological monitoring system) These systems collect information from QCS sensors, vibration sensors, pressure sensors, triggers at rolls and fabrics, etc. to analyse the reasons for periodic quahty disturbances. AU collected signals are taken simultaneously with sample rates from 100 Hz to 4 kHz, depending on sensor type and application. The required measurement frequency is given by the revolution time of the machine elements which can cause quality variations, like felts, rolls, pumps, etc. [Pg.419]

Using the hot melt approach, it is possible to mix and cast the adhesive film as a continuous operation. Here the individual raw materials are fed into a conventional screw extruder, are mixed under controlled temperature conditions and are then pumped out into a reverse-roll coating machine, which can produce film adhesives from as low as 50 g/m up to about 1800 g/mm. The schematic of such a process is shown in Fig. 55. [Pg.287]

Measurement locations should be permanently marked to ensure repeatability of data. If transducers are permanently mounted, the location can be marked with a center punch, paint, or any other method that identifies the point. The following sections give the recommended locations and orientations of measurement points for the following common machines or machine components compressors, electric motors, fans and blowers, gearboxes, process rolls, and pumps. [Pg.721]

Example 6.2 The Synthesis of the Inverse Single Screw Pump There is, however, another, more elegant way to relax the channel-length constraint, as shown in Fig. E6.2. After one circumference, a flow channel formed by the moving and stationary planes of a given width can be twisted helically by an amount equal to the width of the channel to create a much longer helical channel on the same roll or shaft. The channel itself can be simply machined onto the inner surface of the stationary cylinder or barrel. [Pg.241]

In this method the fabric after padding with scouring solution is wound on to a perforated roller. The loaded fabric is then rotated in a treatment chamber provided with a liquid reception vat and a circulation pump. The liquor is circulated from inside to outside of the loaded beam by a centrifugal pump. The main advantage of this type of machine is that the scouring, bleaching and washing operations can be carried out on the same fabric roll. [Pg.138]

The diluted stock may then be pumped by the fan pump through a series of cleaners and into the machine headbox. An inlet distribution header spreads the stock flow evenly over the width of the headbox. The flow is stabilised by the headbox and passes from the headbox through an adjustable orifice plate called the slice. It is discharged onto the moving wire screen (which is usually of plastic construction), dewatered by a series of devices called table rolls, foils and flat boxes leaves the wire as a formed web of paper. It is further dewatered and dried in the succeeding operation before being wound on the reel at the dry end of the machine. [Pg.378]
