Roll filters

Automatic roll A roll filter that constantly or intermittently provides a clean portion of filter in the air stream by means of a pressure switch activating an electric motor, which winds the filter from a clean spool to a dirty spool. [Pg.1440]

Remove the septum on the side-arm adapter, reduce the nitrogen to a gentle flow and introduce chromium hexacarbonyl (5.5 g, 25 mmol) into the flask through the adapter neck with the aid of a rolled filter paper. Put the septum back on the adapter. [Pg.192]

Seeds were germinated in the dark in moist rolled filter paper for 4 days at 24 °C and then grown hydroponically for 3 days in 0.2 mM CaClj. ATPase activity, transport and fluorescence polarization, performed at 25 °C using diphenyl hexatriene (DPH) as probe, were carried out in isolated microsomes [2]. In this membranes, total lipids were extracted and total fatty acids and those from phospholipids [6] determined by gas chromatography. Free sterols were also analized [7]. [Pg.247]

The second stage of separation offers several alternatives thick media pressure filter, pleated paper roll filter or cartridge, strainer, or hydrocyclone. Only the last, the hydrocyclone, does not reqnire preventative maintenance or utilize consumables, and so seems the best choice, especially from the point of view of flexibility. The hydrocyclone is also extremely durable, due to the abrasive resistant nature of the normal material of construction, namely polyurethane, together with its high impact resistance, frequently necessary in a workshop environment. [Pg.289]

A further advantage of the package deal is that the panel filters, pocket filters, automatic roll filters, and various combinations of filters, provided by a systems supplier are designed to match standard dimensions for air handling units. It remains, however, to be decided which types of filter are best suited and most cost-effective for the performance required. [Pg.384]

Where cost-effectiveness or initial capital cost is not a critical factor, flat panel fine filters can be combined with pocket type filters, to provide second-stage filtration, or electrostatic filters may be used for the retention of even finer particles. If the latter are of the dry type, collection of dust from the electrostatic filters must be by pocket or automatic roll filter. Dry-type electrostatic filters usually combine such dust collectors in an integral unit. Both pocket type filters and electrostatic filters are particularly suitable for variable air volume systems, where air volumes can vary from 20% to 110% of design value. Other types of filters are less effective for variable volume flow. Variable air volume systems are becoming increasingly prominent because of the energy savings that are possible. [Pg.385]
