Ring bonds

The grid. search technique can easily be applied to acyclic systems. Ring sy.slems can be treated as pseudo-acyclic by cutting one ring bond. The major drawback of this technique is that, because of the restricted number of degrees of freedom in... [Pg.106]

Methyl bonding, methylene scissor, and 7car-N modes occur at 1460 to 1340 cm" . Ring bonding and methyl rocking modes are found at 1040 to 1070 and 980 cm" , respectively. Four bands, at 600 to 700. 550 to 600. [Pg.274]

The condensation of a dithioamide with a dibromodiketone (305-311) leads to a polymer according to Scheme 7. Polymers formed by thiazole rings bonded by arylene groups have also been obtained (Scheme 8). The ultraviolet spectra of the polymers and their models are given in Table III-60. [Pg.396]

Place the equatorial bonds so as to approximate a tetrahedral arrangement of the bonds to each carbon The equatorial bond of each carbon should be parallel to the ring bonds of its two nearest neighbor carbons... [Pg.118]

Later there was an attempt by ab initio calculation to fit the electron structure of diazirine into the Walsh model of cyclopropane (69MI50800). According to these SCF-LCAO-MO calculations three MOs add to the description of the lone electron pairs, all of which also contribute to some extent to ring bonding. As to strain, 7r-character and conjugative effect, the term pseudo-rr-character was used. [Pg.197]

These consider ring syntheses from non-heterocyclic compounds first, followed by transformation of other heterocyclics. Syntheses in which no new heterocyclic ring is formed are dealt with primarily in the appropriate reactivity section, but with cross-referencing when necessary. Ring syntheses from acyclic precursors are dealt with as logically as possible according to the number and nature of the new ring bonds formed in the process. [Pg.4]

Equatorial bonds- The six equatorial bonds, one on each carbon, come in three sets of two parallel lines. Each set is also parallel to two ring bonds. Equatorial bonds alternate between sides around the ring. [Pg.120]

The situation is different for 2-methylcyclohexanone. 2-Methylcvclo-bexanone has no symmetry plane and is chiral because C2 is bonded to four different groups a -CH3 group, an —H atom, a -COCH2- ring bond (C1), and a —CH2CH2— ring bond (C3). [Pg.293]

C-C = 1.405, and C-N = 1.344 A., with average ring bond distance 1.385 = = 0.01 A. The comparison with the 5 values for a regular hexagonal medel leads to the same value 1.385 A. for the average ring bond distance. It seems un-likely that the C-C distance differs from 1.39 A.,... [Pg.660]
