Rhenium - NMR spectroscopy has provided evidence for the formation of alcohol rhenium complexes when [ReH2(NO)(CO)(PR3)2] reacts with CF3C02H. NMR spectroscopy has been used to monitor the conversion... [Pg.75]

Rhenium(iii) Complexes.—A pure sample of [Re(acac)3] has been prepared by heating a mixture of [Na(acac)] and [ReCl2(acac)2], or [ReCl2(acac)PPh3] for 24h at 175°C in vacuo dark-red crystals formed just outside the hot zone [Re(hfac)3] has also been obtained pure, and the compounds were characterized by i.r., electronic, and mass spectroscopy, and respective magnetic moments of... [Pg.169]

Rhenium(0) compounds are rare and frequently lie in the realm of the organometallic chemistry. A simple example is decacarbonyldirhenium(0) in which two staggered, square-pyramidal Re(CO)5 fragments are held together by a single rhenium-rhenium bond. Substitution of carbonyl ligands is possible by tertiary phosphines and arsines, silanes and isocyanides, and binuclear Re-Re, Mn-Re, and Co-Re complexes have been studied. " Successive replacement of CO ligands can readily be observed by vibrational spectroscopy. This has been demonstrated... [Pg.361]

Complexes of rhenium(bipyridine)(tricarbonyl)(picoline) units linked covalently to magnesium tetraphenylporphyrins via an amide bond between the bipyridine and one phenyl substituent of the porphyrin 19 exhibited no signs of electronic interaction between the Re(CO)3(bpy) nnits and the metalloporphyrin units in their gronnd states. However, emission spectroscopy revealed a solvent-dependent quenching of porphyrin emission upon irradiation into the long-wavelength absorption bands localized on the porphyrin. [Pg.199]
