Rhenium chloride, potassium

Potassium chlororhenite has been prepared by reducing potassium perrhenate with potassium iodide in hydrochloric acid solution.1-4 The identity of the product has been questioned, and various formulae have been assigned to the compound. The difficulties encountered in obtaining a pure product were probably due to the inclusion of a double chloride of potassium and pentavalent rhenium. It is known that the primary reduction involves formation of pentavalent rhenium. [Pg.178]

The complexes described here, which are very easy to prepare in a pure state, are useful starting materials for the preparation of most compounds of rhenium (V) and should be considered with perrhenic acid, potassium hexahalorhe-nate(IV) salts, rhenium(III) chloride, rhenium(V) chloride, and dirhenium decacarbonyl as basic source materials in rhenium chemistry. The procedure is a modification of that originally used by Freni and Valenti, although the nature of the compounds obtained was clarified only by subsequent studies. - ... [Pg.145]

The 6-substituted cyano bipyridine has been generated in 95% yield from bipyridine A-oxide by reaction with trimethylsilylcyanide and dimethylcarbamylchloride.76 This is an improvement on an earlier method that generated 6-cyano bipyridine from the A-oxide in 62% yield using potassium cyanide and benzoyl chloride.77 This ligand has been used in electrochemical studies of rhenium complexes with sterically hindered bipyridine derivatives, as well as a precursor in the synthesis of 6-carbothioamide-bpy, which showed antitumor activity against P-388 lymphocytic leukemia in mice.77... [Pg.12]

After filtering the solution contained the rhenium originally present in the complex sludge. Potassium chloride was added and impure potassium perrhenate was precipitated. Very pure KReO was obtained by recrystallization. [Pg.663]
