Pfizer, the current owner of Warner-Lambert, has faced numerous lawsuits over Rezulin. By 2003, the number of suits reached 8,700, and another... 

The FDA approves the diabetes drug Rezulin for sale, but by the end of the year evidence that Rezulin causes liver failure leads the FDA to recommend that patients taking the drug undergo regular liver enzyme tests to identify any problems. 

The FDA requires Warner-Lambert, the maker of the diabetes drug Rezulin, to withdraw the drug from the market after evidence grows that it caused hundreds of users to die from liver failure.
