The first l,3A 5, 5,2,4,6-trithiatriazepine (17) was described in <84CC55) and after that in following papers by Rees and co-workers. The mechanism of formation of gold-thiol monolayers has been intensively investigated over the last decade. A detailed record of these studies is given in a recent review. Formation of monolayers from thiols is understood best, although some information on adsorption of disulphides and sulphides is also available. XPS analyses of the sulphur 2p peak in monolayers indicate that adsorption of thiols and disulphides on gold produces thiolate species, Raman spectra of monolayers of disulphides and thiols,... 

Comprehensive reviews on basic phenomena, theory, and reaction mechanisms of dasma-assisted processing and plasma polymerization will be covered in this review. Formation of diamond and amorphous carbon which has attracted considerable attention in the last few years will also be described. 

The more mature data currently available in the literature regarding the use of SIR-Spheres in metastatic breast cancer have been recently reported in a peer-reviewed format by Coldwell and colleagues [37]. The authors evaluated the feasibility, side effects, and complications of radioembolization in the treatment of breast cancer metastases to the liver. Enrollment was limited to those patients who had an Eastern Cooperative Group performance score of 0 or 1 and an expected survival of at least 3 months. All patients have been previously treated with systemic chemotherapy and/or trastuzumab. Patients were excluded if brain metastases were present or total bilirubin exceeded 2 mg/dl. Bone metastases did not exclude patients. Baseline PET scans were obtained and patients were followed with CT and PET scans every 3 months. 

Professors Nissim Garti and Axel Benichou review formation and preparation of intricate multiple emulsions, of both the water-in-oil-in-water and oil-in-water-in-oil types. Emulsions of this type occur especially when mixtures of both hydrophobic and hydrophilic stabilizers are used. These mixtures can be either commercial or naturally occurring. This chapter is an important complement to the traditional view of simple emulsions with only one dispersed phase. 

UV units work by passing the water through a reaction chamber containing a UV lamp. The systems used in recreational water are quite simple compared to multiple lamp units used for potable water. The efficacy, durability, and longevity of present recreational water UV units have not been documented in a peer-reviewed format.
