Review of Earlier Schedule Questions

The introduction to the CPM section of this chapter noted that project managers typically need answers to four schedule questions as they proceed through the planning, execution, and closing phases of a project. The CPM helps to answer those 

How long will it take The CPM answers this question in that the forward pass provides the EFT for the entire project. 

Is the project on schedule The CPM provides a clear answer to this question. For example, you could look at the status of each activity relative to its LFT. Or, you could periodically update the CPM analysis and compare the revised absolute completion date to the original absolute completion date.
