Restart Behavior

Current WGS catalysts suffer from the facT that they are mostly pyrophoric and thus require a defined shutdown cycle to prevent ignition. In addition to that, the copper-zinc-based catalyst also requires reduction prior to use. So the SILP catalysts were tested for their restart behavior and tolerance against condensation. Both rapid shutdown and fast restart are required for hydrogen generation scenarios, but one [Pg.341]

Discontinuation may lead to notable deterioration in memory and behavior, which may not be restored when drug is restarted or another cholinesterase inhibitor is initiated... [Pg.134]

Periodic behavior can result if conversion switches to another pathway and either gives the depleted reactant time to recover, or restores it by forming it as one of its new products. A quick take-over results if the reaction along the new pathway is self-accelerating. However, it then needs a mechanism for removal of its accelerator, so that it will fade out in turn and let the other reaction become dominant again to restart the cycle. Nature provides many examples of such behavior. [Pg.451]

Thixotropic A rheological behavior characterized by a reversible viscosity increase over time. Application of a high shear force will return the fluid to its "original viscosity and restart the time-dependent behavior. [Pg.275]

Basically, FSV-Formal Verification takes as inputs a model of the system and a description of the requirement specification, i.e. the desirable behavior, provided by the FSV-BCL tool. Once the designer has selected the contract to be verified, FSV-Formal Verification automatically checks if this contract is not violated. If an error is recognized the tool provides an executable counter-example, technically named harness model, showing that the model behaves in an undesired way when stimulated by a particular input trace produced by the tool. Thus the harness model provides evidence that the model is faulty and needs to be revised. If no errors are found, the model description can be refined by taking new design decisions that make the model more concrete and the verification process can be restarted. [Pg.139]

This problem is solved by the authors using the package ARPACK which is based on Implicitly Restarted Method of Amoldi. In the case of E = 0, the authors observed from the obtained numerical results that the accuracy is very low. In order to increase the accuracy and based on the behavior of the solution of the problem, they consider the following finite difference approximation ... [Pg.268]

Thus, the collision marks a restart of the time scale for the activated ion. As Q > ab+ generally holds, the internal energy prior to the collision is of minor relevance - though not generally negligible - for the behavior of the activated ion. As may be expected, the CID spectra of stable molecular ions exhibit marked similarity to the 70-eV El spectra of the respective compounds [15,16]. [Pg.421]

Host recognition by parasitic Hymenoptera also can be a complex process involving a series of behaviors after initial host contact that must be completed in sequence before an egg is laid. One such sequence is illustrated in Figure 5.7, which diagrams the processes by which Aphytis melinus, a parasitoid used for biological control of California red scale, Aonidiella aurantii, first identifies a potential scale insect species as a potentially suitable host, then assesses the individual quality of that host for utilization (Luck et al. 1982). Egg deposition is the final event of a chain of other behaviors that must be completed in sequence. The series can be broken in several placed and restarted, but no steps can be skipped. [Pg.233]

The compressive residual stress state certainly exerts a beneficial effect on the fatigue behavior since in the following reloading it will be necessary to overcome it before the crack opens and restarts to grow. This actually means that it will not be the entire load excursion Aa to cause fatigue, but rather only the part of it that wiU open the crack, This will reduce the effective applied AK. Let s follow... [Pg.591]
