Regional Cooperation Framework

Prefabricated organic components can also be introduced with substituents whose geometries serve to mold interlamellar regions or framework cavities or that provide redox or optically active sites. The inorganic backbone can also serve to immobilize organic functional groups or to provide appropriate geometrical orientations for reactivity or cooperative electronic effects.

Further actions are recommended towards technology and strategic energy storage, however, within the framework of technical and economic viability. This means that a system analysis would be needed in order to reflect the entire energy supply situation of the transit country. Options are LNG, UGS, LPG, or other fuels for strategic reserves, both in the (nonproducer) transit country itself and in cooperation with other nations in the region.

The territory of Turkey became a link in a large-scale energy corridor that connected countries of this region. Gas-pipeline projects of Blue Flow going over the Black Sea bed and oil pipeline Baku-Tbilissi-Ceyhan may be an example of creation of a new framework for economic cooperation among Black Sea countries. Russia and Turkey are planning to extend the pipeline Blue Flow. 

This volume summarises the materials presented at the NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Sea-Dumped Chemical Munitions, held in Kaliningrad (Moscow Region), Russia, in January 1995. The conference was sponsored by the NATO Division of Scientific and Environmental Affairs in the framework of its outreach programme to develop co-operation between NATO member countries and the Cooperation Partner countries in the area of disarmament technologies. 

In 2002-2003 KAERI together with the BATAN (Indonesia) and the IAEA performed a two-year programme of the Preliminary economic feasibility study of nuclear desalination in Madura Island, Indonesia under the framework of IAEA Technical Cooperation Project. The primary objective of this programme was to examine the economic viability of construction of a nuclear desalination plant with SMART in the Madura Island to support industrialization of the Madura Region. Milestones for the construction of a nuclear desalination plant with SMART reactor were established under an agreement between the BATAN and KAERI. The utility requirement documents (URDs) for nuclear desalination in Indonesia are under preparation. Two units of the SMART nuclear power plant are considered to supply 200 MW of electricity and 40,000 tons of potable water per day. The timeline targeted for the plant construction is 2018.
