Reduced test package

Ease of installation and commissioning is another reason for gas turbine use. A gas turbine unit can be tested and packaged at the factory. Use of a unit should be carefully planned so as to cause as few start cycles as possible. Frequent startups and shutdowns at commissioning greatly reduce the life of a unit. 

The operating environmental temperature has an effect on the carbon canister performance [20]. Fig. 14 shows a 10% degradation in GWC as the environmental temperature increases from 25 to 80 °C. The hydrocarbon heel decreases by 55% during the same test. The hot environment helps to pui ge out the canister, but adsorption is reduced under the same conditions. Ideally the canister would be packaged in an area where it would not pick up heat from vehicle operation. 

A great variety of PVC materials have been tested in the process thus far cable, cable trays, flooring material, window frames, artificial leather, packaging, pipes, flexible hoses, ring binders and roofing material. This indicates that the process is robust and can handle a broad range of PVC materials. In terms of chlorine content, there are no restrictions. With the completion of the pretreatment pilot plant, the contents of other plastics and metals may now be reduced significantly. 

Rejection of sodium sulphate was exceptional at the lower temperatures but permeate recovery was low. The testing at 81°C fulfilled Kvaerner s need to reduce overall skid costs and provide good rejection with an acceptable recovery rate. The use of high temperature membranes has provided the means to optimise the number of membrane elements, reduce the equipment costs and ensure that the SRS skid is an economically attractive package.
