For redox processes, there is some evidence of Tafel slope curvature for certain processes under certain circumstances.228,229 These may be a partial result of double layer effects.196 In other cases experimental Tafel plots which are close to linear appear.177 230 The controversial question of P possibly varying with temperature231 232 will not be discussed here, although double layer effects196 may often be responsible. 

Figure 10 signifies the electrochemical analysis (Tafel plot) of MS panels coated with neat alkyd resin, and coated with 2 and 4 wt % loading of ZMP nanocontainer incorporated in alkyd resin. Above analysis was carried out in 5 wt % aqueous NaCl solution at room temperature. The Tafel plot is plotted as log (current density) as a function of applied potential. In Tafel plot analysis current density is measured in corrosion process for simultaneous redox reactions occurs at the surface of cathode and anode of MS plate. Icorr i.e. corrosion current density and Ecorr i.e. corrosion potential, values were found from the Tafel plot analysis. It is observed that corrosion current... 

Interestingly, this approximation yields an exponential term with a transition factor of a = 1/2 which would correspond to a slope for the Tafel equation of 120 mV per current decade. There are certainly many redox systems with which this slope has nearly been verified (a 0.4—0.5). On the other hand, one would expect a deviation from a linear log j—rj plot for redox couples with a reorganization energy of A < 1 eV.
